Man who escaped from police recaptured
Authorities say Juan Castro, 28, was pulled over for running a red light and had drugs in his possession

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Officers have recaptured a prisoner in downtown Houston who briefly escaped custody.

Authorities say Juan Castro, 28, was pulled over for running a red light and had drugs in his possession. The jail was having problems with a door, and as he was being transported to the jail, Castro jumped out of the patrol vehicle and ran out.

A short time later, a K9 officer located Castro in an abandoned warehouse near Commerce and La Branch. He reportedly told officers he didn't want to go to jail.
