Mask-wearing men break into Greenspoint store
Police say the trio hit the same Greenspoint Mall store three times.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Burglars who hit Greenspoint Mall three times in March have gotten away with high dollar merchandise in the middle of the night. Houston police say they've gotten away with as much as $8,000 in stolen goods from Journeys and Foot Action.

The burglars break in between 2-5 a.m. through abandoned parts of the mall, according to investigators. They've evaded security guards and use stolen backpacks to load up with the stolen gear.

"One of the suspects will actually jiggle with the gate and pry it up. Once they get it loose, they'll hold it high enough for one of the other suspects to slide under. Once the other suspect slides under, he gets on the other side, he holds the gate up for the other suspect to slide under," explained Investigator Bryant McCoy.

They spend 10 to 15 minutes inside the store, taking their time and taking whatever they want. They even remove the security tags before leaving.

"They're taking like Jordans, Michael Jordan shoes, Nikes, Nike sneakers, Nike shorts, Jordan basketball shorts," McCoy said. They're probably casing the mall amid the regular shoppers during the day.

"They're probably walking around the mall looking at items and looking at how the store is set up, so once they go in they go straight, directly to what they want."

Police say they've done this multiple times, first hitting on March 6, and again two days later, and again on March 13. Police believe two black males and one black female, all in their late teens or early 20s are involved in these crimes.
