HPD officer hit and injured while working accident scene

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer was injured when he was struck by a car while working another accident.

It happened around midnight on Synott Road near Bellaire.

Police say the officer was in his patrol car blocking traffic, when a driver in a van slammed in the officer's car.

The cop was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Authorities say the driver may have been speeding.

No charges have been filed yet.
