HPD: Man stabbed to death with son inside truck in N. Houston
The search is on for a killer in north Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Investigators are hoping a grainy surveillance camera image will lead them to a killer in north Houston.

Police say the photo shows a man on the run after he stabbed a man right in front of his son on Sunday morning.

Jose Hernandez had just placed the child inside his pickup truck around 11:15am when he was approached by a black male, investigators say.

The two men got into an argument outside Hernandez's home in the 190 block of Goodson Drive, near Airline Drive.

At one point, the man pulled out a knife and began stabbing Hernandez several times.

The victim yelled for help, his child still inside the pickup truck. Several people rushed to help Hernandez.

Sadly, he died at a local hospital from his injuries.

HPD says the suspect is a black male with a small afro, approximately 18 to 25 years old, standing at 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10.

The man did not have a shirt on, according to investigators, but was seen wearing dark-colored jeans, and a red shirt hanging over his shoulder.

A $5,000 reward is now available for his arrest. If you know who this person is, you can make an anonymous tip by calling 713-222-TIPS or by submitting your tip online at www.crime-stoppers.org.
