High-speed chase ends in crash
Police have arrested the man who allegedly caused a big crash after leading officers in a chase

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man is behind bars this morning after leading Houston police officers on a high-speed chase.

Officers say 23-year-old Luther Jones was driving a stolen truck. Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle and say Jones wouldn't stop. The chase started at Highway 59 at Bellaire and ended at Homestead and Ley in northeast Houston.

Investigators say the chase ended when Jones ran a light and crashed into an SUV at the intersection of Homestead and Ley.

The driver of the SUV is in stable condition and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

After the crash, police say Jones and two passengers fled but were soon found by police.

Willie Lewis was getting gas at the Citco and saw everything.

"I mean he was going at least 80 miles an hour, that white truck. The grey truck was just doing normal speed, and it was just bam, sounded like a small explosion," said Willie Lewis, a witness.

A police car involved in the chase hit a BMW during the pursuit. No one was hurt.
