Police stand off ends with suspect dead
Police say a man who shot two people was found inside an apartment dead with a self-inflicted gunshot

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A SWAT standoff at an apartment complex in northeast Houston last night ended with the suspect apparently taking his own life.

It happened around 9pm at the Park at Humble apartments near the intersection of FM 1960 and Townsen.

According to witnesses, two men were outside the apartment fighting when one of the men opened fire. The shooting victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition.

Police say the suspect then ran back inside the apartment and barricaded himself inside. Authorities say they heard gunshots and eventually made their way into the apartment. They found a woman shot and the suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The woman should survive her injuries.

The shooting happened right in front of neighbors.

"The man just fell on my car. He was like, 'help, help, help.' When he fell on my car I got out and I looked at him and told him to get on the sidewalk," said eyewitness Omisha Marshall. "I pulled my car over here, parked and I called 911. The dude opened his door and the dude shot him again, boom."

It's unclear what the relationship among all three of them is.

An investigation is ongoing.
