Firefighters from Fire Station 18 hailed as heroes after saving a man's life were honored by Texans

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Who can forget the dramatic rescue that firefighters from Houston Fire Station 18 staged back in March. That crew is now receiving a special honor from the Houston Texans.

The Texans today invited the station 18 crew to be flag holders at the Texans home opener next month.

Captain Brad Hawthorne and engineer operator Dwayne Wyble rescued the worker from that fire and will lead the Texans onto the field.

"Thank ya the City of Houston, the Texans the Rockets the Astros the Skeeters game. We've done a lot since this fire happened and it's just I don't know just an honor," said Captain Brad Hawthorne with the Houston Fire Department.

The Texans also gave the firefighters a jersey with the number 18.
