HPD: 1 person dead after shooting near Meyerland

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- One person is dead after a shooting near the Meyerland area Monday afternoon.

According to investigators, three men were involved in some sort of altercation in the 5000 block of Braesvalley Drive.

The third man shot and killed a 39-year-old man during the altercation.

The area near Braesmont in southwest Houston has seen its share of crime in recent weeks. Last month, 10-month-old Messiah Marshall was murdered while in the arms of his father outside the Nob Hill Apartments.

Two people have been charged in connection to Messiah's death.
