Victims hide in bathroom during home invasion
Police set up a perimeter, but the suspects managed to slip away

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating a home invasion that took place around lunch time Friday in southwest Houston. Just before 1pm, police were called to the Alabama Place condos near Edloe and Richmond. Even though the townhomes are gated, somehow the suspects managed to get in.

Police say at least two suspects broke into the home and beat up the two people inside before stealing some of their belongings and fleeing. At least one of the suspects was armed. At some point during the attack, the victims managed to lock themselves in the bathroom.

When the first officer arrived on the scene, he spotted a suspect still inside the home and called for backup. Police set up a perimeter around the scene, but the suspects managed to slip away. No description is available at this time.

The victims were roughed up, but they weren't seriously injured. It's unclear if the homeowners were targeted or if this was a random attack.
