HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Armed robbers terrorized a woman and shot a man who fought back during a home invasion early this morning in east Harris County.

Man was shot in home invasion in east Harris County

We've learned around 2am, a young woman pulled into a driveway in the 800 block of Overbluff to visit her friend when apparently two or three men lying in wait approached her and held her at gunpoint and forced her into the home.

Authorities tell us when they burst into the home, one of the suspects shot the man living here who fought back. There were two young men inside the home at the time of the home invasion.

We are told the victim was shot three times and was taken to Ben Taub and is in surgery.

The woman held at gunpoint did talk to detectives and appears to be OK.

The suspects ransacked the home and we know the suspects did get away with some valuables.

Authorities not saying much about this, only saying it was an aggravated assault. We are still waiting to talk to investigators about the motive for this home invasion.
