The suspect, driving a silver or gray colored pickup truck, could be armed, according to authorities.

At one point, the driver went the wrong way on Cypresswood, directly into traffic, narrowly missing several school buses. The driver is evading deputies at very high rates of speed, but remains roughly in the same area, often going in and out of residential areas. He once drove into a grassy median in order to avoid a long line of school buses. Spring ISD schools east of I-45 are on lockdown due to the pursuit, according to a district spokesperson. An exact list of campuses impacted is not immediately available.

No accidents have been witnessed at this point, but there have been a number of close calls.

Deputies have tried to force the suspect to a halt in a parking lot, and also deployed spike strips, but he has managed to continue to evade them.

The pursuit began at about 2:30pm on FM 1960.
