Deputies say 13 men were arrested between November 5 and November 20, resulting in 26 felony charges, one misdemeanor charge and eight search warrants.

"This is horrible what you are seeing with some of these individuals and what they are attempting to do," said Fort Bend Sheriff Troy Nehls.

The list of people charged is as follows:

  • Christopher Nunes, 32, a coach and teacher at McArthur High School
  • John Crawford of Katy, an officer with the Texas Army National Guard
  • Eric Burgess, 50, of Conroe
  • Talha Riaz, 23, of Tomball
  • Carlton Crosby, 18, of Richmond
  • Richard Weekley, 33, of Jersey Village
  • Kenneth Gibson, 50, of Spring
  • Nathaniel Montes, 35, of Houston
  • Lee Phillip Traver, 34, of Rosenberg
  • Jesus Garcia, 29, of Houston
  • Jesus Soto, 24, of Fulshear
  • Garry Bellamy, 66, of Pasadena
  • Juan Landeros-Ortiz, 19

The Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office says the arrests came as task force agents sent suspects to a location where they believed they would be meeting children for sex.

"We will do everything we can, we can't spend enough energy, enough time, enough resources , going after, targeting individuals out there, attempting to prey on our children," said Nehls.

We reached out to the Aldine ISD about teacher and coach, Christopher Nunes. The district provide the following statement:

"On November 20, we were notified a teacher at Mac 9 was arrested in Fort Bend County. The individual has been removed from the campus and is on administrative leave pending an investigation. This incident in question did not take place on our campus and occurred after school hours. Our focus will remain to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff."

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office also said it does not have any reason to believe, at this time, that Nunes has had any victims at the campus.
