SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- A young girl in Fort Bend County says a man tried to kidnap her while she was riding her bike last night, according to authorities.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office say they responded to a call in the 1600 block of Turning Leaf at about 8:30pm.

Investigators say the 12-year-old girl said a man had attempted to kidnap her earlier in the evening while she was riding her bicycle in the 7400 block of Riverbrook Drive. The girl says a black man in a pickup truck pulled up next to her, and speaking through the passenger side window, the man told the girl her mother had called him and told him to come and get her.

The girl says she never stopped and the suspect never got out of his vehicle to stop her.

The girl described the suspect as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s with a deep voice and a "shiny" bald head. She said he was driving a low riding, white four-door pickup truck. After viewing examples of trucks, the girl picked out a Toyota Tacoma, according to investigators. Authorities say the girl also said there was a yellow "jigsaw puzzle piece" on the back of the truck's window.
