FRIENDSWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- A Friendswood burglary suspect is now facing charges after a wild foot chase overnight that involved one of the victims crashing through a fence to catch him. And now police are asking the public to notify them if they've been victimized.

Robert Chance Gates, 21, is charged with two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle. This, after officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a home in the 16900 block of Creek Line Drive at around 1:15am.

Police say when they arrived, they found a burglary victim and his family cornering Gates. That's when police say Gates jumped a fence to get away. Officers gave chase.

The victim also took off after Gates and after crashing through a couple fences, was able to catch up to and tackle him.

Police say Gates confessed to breaking into several vehicles, but told them he can't remember which ones and what property he took. So police are asking others in the area who were burglarized overnight to contact them.

At the time of his arrest, police say Gates' pockets were full of property.
