HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Fire Department was busy responding to several fires overnight, all of which were within blocks of each other in southwest Houston.

There were house fires on Oboe near McDermed, Roos at Pella and Willowgrove near Nenana, and an apartment fire on Town Park near Westline.

In the fire on Willowgrove, lightning is suspected as the cause. The woman who lives there got out safely with her two dogs. A pile of debris was stacked outside the home while a contracted waited for the sun to come up.

The fire on Oboe is also believed to be weather-related. It burned at a vacant home. Neighbors reported hearing a lot of lightning and thunder in the area.

As for the house fire on Roos, it burned at around 11pm. There were two adults and two children inside. Everyone was able to get out. Firefighters found the fire in the attic and put it out. Investigators say the fire appears to be electrical in nature. The American Red Cross provided the family with a place to stay for the night.
