HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man was pulled from his home as it went up in flames in southeast Houston.

Firefighters say it happened around 3am on Glover Street near Fennell Street.

Neighbors on the scene tell abc13 the victim is Leslie de la Pena. He is known in the Houston music and production industry as Wizzo.

Wizzo is in bad shape right now after being pulled out of his home, according to fire officials.

When firefighters arrivers, they found heavy fire and smoke billowing out of the home. Officials say WIzzo was trapped in the back area of the home.

When the victim was rescued, he was not responsive but he was breathing.

This morning, he is fighting for his life in the hospital.

Samuel Barraza is a friend.

"The community around here knows him as Wizzo the producer," Barraza says. "He helped many people in the music industry. We worked with a lot of people, like local artists. He also did music videos, TV commercials. He was a guy that had talent in the television and music industry."

With heavy rains coming in, firefighters say the wind really drove this fire.

We are told that the victim didn't have much time to get out.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. Arson investigators are on the scene.
