The good news is that the Taqueria Mexico Lindo was not open when the fire started. The bad news is the fire caused quite a bit of damage inside.

Firefighters got the call at about 8am. When they arrived, flames were shooting through the roof.

Firefighters say they were able to get this under control very quickly, but the flames were so intense the kitchen area is a total loss.

HFD Chief Mo Davis said, "There is so much damage in there right now it is pretty hard to see. The kitchen is totally messed up, there is so much stuff on it and we try not to move much around before arson can get to it and find the origin better than us."

Arson investigators are trying to figure out how this started. The restaurant was not open when the fire started.
