Firefighters battle massive blaze at apartment complex
At least 12 units were affected by smoke, fire and water

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Fire engulfed an apartment complex in southwest Houston today.

It happened at the Bellerive condominiums near Reims and Bellerive. Firefighters got the call a little before 6pm and at one point, went defensive.

"I just heard windows cracking and my husband comes in and tells me to get out. I just outside and I see black flames everywhere and they guy that lives there he just left," resident Diana Harris said.

Ten units were affected, but no injuries were reported.

One resident told Eyewitness News that his dog "King" was trapped inside and firefighter Clayton Neal didn't hesitate to go in and bring him out.

A second dog also was rescued from the fire.

The Red Cross has been notified for assistance with displaced occupants.
