Warehouse fire
Firefighters are now working to determine the cause of the blaze at the "24 Hour Safety" business in Deer Park

DEER PARK, TX (KTRK) -- Deer Park firefighters are battling a blaze at the "24 Hour Safety" in the 2700 block of Railroad at Georgia Street.

Firefighters say the call came in around 2:07am this morning after an employee arrived at the business and smelled smoke. He also heard what investigators say were believed to be several small explosions. A representative from 24 Hour Safety says they sell canisters of breathable air and what that employee heard likely was relief valves from those tanks as the fire got closer to them.

When firefighters arrived, the fire was so intense they went into defensive mode. The roof has partially collapsed. Investigators say the building is a total loss.

The fire broke out in the warehouse and administrative offices of the building. No one is injured. Firefighters are now working to determine the cause of the blaze.

"24 Hour Safety" is a business that sells safety equipment and provides training to the petrochemical industry. They say they will reopen as soon as Monday in whatever capacity they can to still service customers.
