An apartment manager is telling us law enforcement came by just with West's photo, asking people to keep an eye out for him.

Neighbor Sheila Cooper said, "They surrounded the place, they went around the back, and then they knocked on the front door pretty hard so there really was nowhere for them to run, but come out."

"I keep an eye on everything and I had never seen him before," said apartment manager Reba Wright. "Those are relatives down there that he was in their house."

West was taken to the juvenile facility in downtown Houston.

Authorities say West -- along with Alferis Coby and Deionthay Harper -- assaulted a guard before making their escape from the Juvenile Detention Center in downtown Houston early Sunday morning.
