A fight led to a deadly hit and run southeast of downtown Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An argument led to a hit and run. Now one person is dead, and one person is on the run.

It happened around 9pm Sunday in the 4900 block of McKinney near Dumble in southeast Houston.

According to homicide investigators, a family was having a get together with friends when a fight broke out. One person sped off from the home and hit another man with his pick-up truck, throwing the victim into a ditch. The victim, a Hispanic male between 30 and 40 years of age, died at the scene.

The suspect's vehicle is a silver Chevy Silverado pick-up truck. Police don't know if the suspect is related to the family, but they are talking to witnesses.

A person of interest has been taken in for questioning.
