Fatal wrong way, head-on collision on the Katy Freeway

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities are investigating a fatal, head-on collision involving a wrong way driver on the Katy Freeway Sunday morning.

The accident happened at the 19000 block of the Katy Freeway around 1:30am on Saturday.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The driver of the Honda was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
