Fatal motorcycle accident brings traffic on Highway 290 to standstill

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A fatal motorcycle accident brought traffic on 290 to a standstill for hours Saturday afternoon.

According to police, bikers from the Grey Ghost Motorcycle club out of Louisiana were traveling east on 290 near Barker-Cypress when one of them lost control and hit a temporary barrier. He died on the scene. A second biker also crashed and was seriously injured.

The identity of the driver hasn't been released, but we are told he's 39 years old.

The scene was cleared a little before 8pm.
