A missing 10-year-old girl from Baytown has been found safe.

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- A missing 10-year-old girl from Baytown was found safe late Monday, her family told ABC13.

According to police, investigators received a tip that Jaidyn Amiot was at an apartment in the 3700 block of Garth Road. She was found safe and unharmed.

After the search, Baytown police thanked the media after the story aired.

Her grandmother told police the fourth grader snuck out of their house on Waterwood on Sunday sometime between noon and 1pm.

"I just love her with all my life and I really want her to come home," grandmother Sheila Amiot told Eyewitness News. The girl and her older sister have lived with their grandmother most of the their lives. Sheila Amiot was granted custody last year.

Baytown Police are looking for a missing 10-year-old girl.

During Jaidyn Amiot's disappearance, Sheila Amiot said she had her fears.

"That someone is going to think she's older, and I know with everything going on nowadays on the news and everything else, I'm just afraid she's going to be sold into prostitution. She's just a kid, just a child, not a woman," Sheila Amiot said.

Jaidyn Amiot left her pajamas lying on her bed, "suggesting the child may have left intentionally," a police news release said.

According to her family, she also suffers from depression.

Police are still trying to figure out why Jaidyn Amiot left her home and what were her activities during her disappearance.
