SUV driver slams into two SW Houston homes
It happened last night on North Garden near West Airport

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two homeowners in southwest Houston are starting off the holiday weekend with a hole in their houses and it's all because of an SUV.

The vehicle hit the homes on North Garden near West Airport around 10:30pm last night.

Police say the driver of the SUV was speeding when he went off the road and crashed through a fence. The SUV hit a tree and then slammed into the two houses.

One house was empty, but a woman was inside the other home putting away her dishes.

"I heard this loud noise and I knew something hit the fence then all of a sudden, things just started moving and rumbling some more loud noises," said homeowner Norma Bradley. "I panicked and my alarm system went off and I didn't know if it was someone trying to kick in my door."

The woman wasn't hurt. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The crash is currently under investigation.
