HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are looking for a suspect who fled the scene after a man was shot in his car in southwest Houston. Police are looking for a white four-door vehicle believed to be a Toyota Camry.

The shooting victim is identified as Aaron James Francis, 22. He was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a car that crashed into a building around 12:30am on the 9600 block of Bissonnet near Plainfield.

Officials say a confrontation occurred before the driver lost control and crashed into the building.

Authorities say the victim was sitting in a vehicle with another male and female when a second vehicle pulled up to them. There was an exchange of words that led to an argument. One of the passengers in the second vehicle fired a shot into the victim's car. When the driver was struck, he floored the accelerator and crashed into the building.

Francis was pronounced dead on the scene. The other two passengers inside the car suffered minor injuries.

The building struck in the crash is where services are held for Iglesia Evangelica church. The pastor of the church says only minor damage was done to the facilities restrooms. Services will still be held in the space.
