Driver, horse killed in accident in NW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A crash in northwest Houston last night killed a driver and a horse.

It happened near Knox and Little York in Acres Homes around 8pm. Police say the driver of an SUV lost control and hit a horse and its rider, then crashed into a light pole and a fence.

The impact killed the horse and the driver died at the hospital.

The man riding the horse was also taken to the hospital and treated and released.
