Driver dies after crashing into tree in SE Houston

Man dies in one-car crash in SE Houston
Investigators are working to determine why a man lost control of his vehicle before crashing into a tree in southeast Houston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man has been killed after police say he crashed his vehicle into a tree in southeast Houston.

The accident happened around 12:15am at Almeda-Genoa Road and Furman Road.

Officers say the driver crashed into the tree after losing control of his vehicle. When firefighters arrived, they found the man trapped inside.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

Police are still investigating the accident and are not saying whether or not speed played a part in the accident.
