Crash at Houston Motorsports Park kills driver of 1967 Camaro

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver was killed while practicing a drag race run at Houston Motorsports Park in northeast Harris County.

The driver of a 1967 Camaro drove off the end of the 1/8 mile drag strip, crashed through some barriers and then hit the wall.

It's unclear if the driver died at the scene or the hospital. He was the only one involved.

It's believed the car had some sort of mechanical failure leading to the crash.
