Downed tree gets wedged under deputy's cruiser

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A wild scene played out in north Houston overnight when a car hit a downed tree from the storms, and then forced it under a deputy's cruiser.

This happened around 3am this morning in Pinemont at Brinkman.

A deputy was on his way home and had blocked traffic after the storms caused a tree to crash into the road.

A driver then hit the tree, forced it under the cruiser, and kept going.

The driver was eventually arrested and the deputy was not hurt.
