HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Dr. George Blumenschein took the stand Friday in the trial of a woman accused of poisoning him with a component of antifreeze.

"Its hard saying 'no' to her," Dr. Blumenschein testified. "She's doesn't accept 'no.'"

Dr. Blumenschein says he and Dr. Ana Gonzalez-Angulo had sex about once a month for years, starting in 2011. They were both cancer doctors, working closely together at MD Anderson, when they met.

Dr. Blumenschein was in a long-term relationship with a woman named Evette Toney at the time.

"I cheated on Evette," Dr. Blumenschein testified. "It was wrong. The wrong thing to do."

On January 27, 2013, prosecutors allege Dr. Gonzalez poisoned his coffee with ethylene glycol.

Dr. Gonzalez says she didn't do it, and defense attorneys have alleged that, at 5'1", she's too small to force her 6'3" lover to do anything.

If found guilty, Dr. Gonzalez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
