WILLIS, TX (KTRK) -- Investigators say they now know the identity of the woman who was found dead at Sam Houston National Forest in Willis last week.

The dead woman is 27-year-old Amanda Michelle Martinez. Two passers-by found her body last Thursday at the edge of the Sam Houston National Forest.

Investigators think the body was dumped there and whoever did it didn't make much of an effort hiding it.

"The body has been transported to the forensic center and detectives have identified it as a murder investigation at this time," an official told us.

Detectives don't have a suspect or a motive yet.
