Deputies: Wrong-way driver pulled from burning vehicle

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A wrong-way driver is fighting for his life after an accident sent his vehicle bursting into flames.

Deputies say the driver was traveling northbound on the southbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway when he crashed his vehicle at the Porter exit.

The driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed. That is when officers say his car caught fire.

Deputies pulled the driver from the wreckage and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.

His condition is not known at this time.
