Montgomery County District Attorney's Office top-ranking officials filed an amended motion for the recusal of 9th state District Court Judge Kelly Case in the Adrian Peterson injury to a child case, citing a "close relationship" between the judge and one of Peterson's defense attorneys.

The amended motion, filed Thursday morning by District Attorney Brett Ligon and First Assistant DA Phil Grant, contends Judge Case should voluntarily recuse himself to avoid the perception of impropriety that comes with "longtime friend" Brian Wice arguing before him on Peterson's behalf in a high-profile case against the Minnesota Vikings star running back.

A recusal hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m., in the 221st ancillary courtroom.
