Crosby man sentenced to 50 years in prison for murder

CROSBY, TX -- After a continuance was approved by the court in September 2014, Charles Ray Carter of Crosby was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the shooting death of Earl Green.

The jury was selected for the trial and Carter pleaded not guilty to felony murder. The jury found Carter guilty of murder and he was sentenced to 50 years on Dec. 11. There is currently an appeal on the ruling by Carter's attorney, Arthur Washington.

Calls to Washington by the Observer were not returned as of press time.
