THE WOODLANDS (KTRK) -- Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two bodies were discovered inside a home.

Deputies say the bodies were found inside the home that sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in The Woodlands. It's an unusual scene for those who live on Mews Wood Court.

"We're surprised and shocked. We came home from the gym and dinner and the action was going on," neighbor Gary Adams said. " We don't know what happened."

That's what sheriff's deputies are trying to piece together. They are treating it as a murder-suicide and believe the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.

"We don't have any history or any problems that would have led to this," said Lt. Dan Zientek with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say the 911 call was made from someone inside the home and they believe it was made before the shooting happened.

"It's believed the person who fired called 911," Lt. Zientek added.

Neighbors say they are a pretty tight knit group and often socialize with one another but added this couple rarely attended events when invited.

"They've been very private and kept to themselves," Adams said.
