HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston husband and wife are both facing charges for allegedly stealing millions of dollars from a Sugar Land business over the course of a decade.

Hura and Andrea Davidson are both charged with theft, money laundering and misapplication of fiduciary duty for allegedly stealing more than $8.4 million from Kalsi Engineering over the course of 10 years. It first came to light in April when the company's bank notified them of suspicious transactions made from the company's account.

Andrea Davidson was the bookkeeper at the company. Police say electronic payments were being made to the her personal credit card. Detectives also say they discovered forged checks that had been previously issued to her, her friends and fake companies.

Today, Davidson denied stealing the money as she was led into a police car. Her neighbors watched from the street, in shock.

"You can't take from others that have worked hard to build something over the years," said Leah Morejon. "They should be punished. I'm glad that obviously it caught up to her."

Investigators say Andrea Davidson later admitted to the president of the company that she had stolen millions of dollars and forged bank statements to conceal her activity.

Kalsi Engineeing's Chief Administrative Officer Isken Ward told us over the phone, "We are working toward the future and looking forward to getting this all behind us."

As for Davidson's husband's arrest, police say he helped her to spend the stolen money on extravagant trips and toys.

Police say there could be more arrests as the investigation goes on. Bonds for both Hura and Andrea Davidson have been set at $6 million.
