Cops: Woman stole booze to see her boyfriend in jail

CEDAR PARK, TX -- A central Texas woman apparently wanted to apologize to her boyfriend, but in order to do so, she found herself under arrest -- on purpose.

Police in Cedar Park, Texas, say Alicia Walicke, 22, stole a bottle of MD 20/20 from a gas station on Wednesday in order to see her boyfriend, who was already in jail.

Court documents state that when officers arrived to the scene of the crime, they found Walicke sitting next to a gas station, drinking a $3.99 bottle of fortified wine.

When questioned, Walicke reported replied, "I stole the bottle of MD so I could be arrested and see my boyfriend at Williamson County Jail."

Walicke said her boyfriend was arrested earlier that evening and it was her fault so she wanted to make things right and go to jail, the arrest affidavit says. She's charged with theft, a class B misdemeanor.
