Concrete block crashes through Webster officer's windshield during chase

WEBSTER, TX (KTRK) -- A police chase overnight in Webster ended in with damage to a patrol car, as well as two other vehicles.

A suspected car thief fleeing police drove off the feeder road along the Gulf Freeway and struck a large piece of concrete. It flew up into the air and went through the officer's windshield.

Two drivers in cars behind the chase swerved to miss the debris and crashed into each other. The police officer had to be taken to the hospital for observation.

He was released. The suspect was not caught.
