Coast Guard searching for missing swimmer in Matagorda Co.

SARGENT, TX (KTRK) -- The Coast Guard and Matagorda County Sheriff's Department are searching for a man who went missing last night while swimming with a friend near an inlet of East Matagorda Bay.

Adareshea Taylor Williams, 25, is 5 feet 11 inches tall, and about 180 pounds. He has tattoos and was last seen wearing orange shorts.

The Sheriff's Department reported that a woman was swimming with Williams around 9pm and lost sight of him off Caney Creek beachfront. She was able to make it to shore on the opposite side of the inlet and called for help.

A helicopter and boat search ensued last night, and search crews are working today to help find Williams.
