CLEVELAND, TX -- Seven Cleveland ISD high school and middle school students are undergoing medical evaluations Wednesday morning after all reportedly showed signs of drug or substance abuse. Four of the seven were transported to Kingwood hospitals and the remaining three are being treated at the schools by paramedics.

Around 8:15 a.m., the seven students were picked up by campus police after they were spotted standing alongside Tractor Supply by a Liberty County sheriff's deputy. Tractor Supply is located directly across SH 321 from the high school and middle school campuses.

Hoping to allay parents' fears, Cleveland ISD Police Chief Rex Evans assured that all of the parents of the children involved have been contacted.
