CLEVELAND, TX -- Even the best vacation plans can go awry. When Cleveland ISD Police Chief Rex Evans left last week on a cruise to Cozumel and Belize, he never thought he would be aboard the one cruise ship in the Gulf being threatened with a quarantine due to Ebola.
"That was the first time I've ever taken a full week of vacation in my adult life and will probably be the last. I think I am better off staying at work," said Evans with a laugh.
Evans and the other passengers aboard Carnival Magic were allowed to debark in Galveston early Sunday morning, Oct. 19, after a couple of tension-filled days during which one of the passengers was tested for Ebola.
