FORT BEND COUNTY (KTRK) -- At least seven people were injured after a passenger bus collided with an 18-wheeler Wednesday evening on US-59 in Fort Bend County.

An #abc13eyewitness viewer shared this video with us from the bus crash

The crash happened in the southbound lanes near FM 360 south of Beasley, Texas. The driver, with the Los Chavez bus line, told Texas Department of Public Safety troopers he heard something pop as he attempted to pass an 18-wheeler, lost control and then slammed into it.

At least seven people, including children, were taken to the hospital. All had non-life threatening injuries. Dei Artega was traveling with her 2-year-old daughter and mother.

"I was sleeping and then I feel something like that and I take my baby with me. My mother went to the hospital. She (her daughter) was crying but she's okay. Thank goodness," Artega told Eyewitness News.

Passengers said the bus departed from north Houston and was headed to San Luis Potosi, Mexico. A replacement bus was dispatched to pick up the remaining passengers. No one from the bus company responded to a call or email.

DPS investigators say it's likely the bus driver will be cited. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt.
