Truck hits train
A man leaving the scene of an attempted burglary slammed into a train, seriously injuring his girlfriend passenger

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A truck slammed into a train this morning after an attempted burglary.

The crash happened near Canal and 65th Street minutes after police say the driver and passenger had tried to rob a grocery store along Avenue K. The address for that store goes back as the Magnolia Super Market.

The suspected burglars, a boyfriend and girlfriend, were unable to get inside the store and left the scene.

The boyfriend, who was driving their getaway truck, then slammed into a Union Pacific train.

His girlfriend passenger was seriously hurt and was rushed to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Police say the boyfriend left her there and took off on foot. He's not been caught.
