LINDEN, NJ -- A New Jersey man was arrested Monday after police say he broke into a home, and the incident was caught on the resident's in-house security cameras.

Police responded to a report of an in-progress burglary on East Gibbons Street just after 11 a.m.

Responding officers were told that the homeowner, who was not home, had an alarm system that, when activated, triggered video cameras in the home to send still photos to the victim's cell phone.

Police say the homeowner viewed one photo that showed a man with a backpack inside the residence.

Officers checked the house and found an unlocked window in the rear of the house with the screen pushed up. They were able to enter the house, and, after a search, found 32-year-old Michael Quintero hiding in a front vestibule.

Police say Quintero was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of several screwdrivers and jewelry items which were taken from the residence.

Quintero was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.

He also had contempt warrants out of Linden, Union Township, Madison and the Union County Sheriff's Department.

His bail was set at $50,000 for the Linden charges.

Quintero was transported to the Union County Jail with a court date set for October 27th.
