Burglar caught on camera creeping over baby's crib is sentenced

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A burglar caught on camera creeping over a baby's crib last year is headed back to jail.

A judge sentenced Christopher Gomez to three years behind bars, minus the 11 months he already served.

We first showed you the shocking video back in April of Gomez burglarizing a home in west Harris County. At one point, he even looked over a sleeping child in the room.

Gomez pleaded guilty to burglary and on Friday he pleaded for a judge to give him probation. The judge decided against that idea.

"He's kind of a loner, kind of a drifting guy, didn't have any direction, no discipline," said defense attorney, Ralph Gonzalez. "He fell into the drain that he could get away with stuff because they don't think about their actions."

Gomez' lawyer said he could still be eligible for release in eight or nine months because of the time he already served.
