Bizarre car jacking caught on video
The suspect shot and chased the driver over the course of minutes to steal the car.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston man was shot during a carjacking at a store on Homestead and Parker Friday morning.

The carjacking was all caught on security camera video.

The video starts just before 6 a.m. and shows the suspect, wearing a yellow safety vest, walking from the front of the store toward the victim's car.

The victim then comes out of the store, speaks to the suspect, then retrieves something from his back seat and walks back into the store.

The suspect remains by the victim's car.

A full two minutes go by before the victim walks back to his car, and appears to hand the suspect a bottle of water. He then returns his attention to his back seat.

Moments later the suspect pulls out a gun and starts shooting into the car.

The victim manages to get out of the car and run away, but the suspect wasn't finished. He chases after the victim who has two bullet wounds -- one in the leg and the other in the chest.

The suspect is back 30 seconds later, rifling through the victim's car but apparently he cannot find the keys so the suspect once again heads toward the victim.

The suspect takes the keys and drives off into the night.
