Teen riding bicycle on Seawall Blvd hit by ambulance

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A teen suffered multiple injuries after he was struck by an ambulance while riding his bicycle.



A 15-year-old boy was riding in the 9500 block of Galveston's Seawall Boulevard at around 10:30pm Sunday. Authorities say he was riding eastbound in the right westbound lane of traffic. A Galveston EMS ambulance was also traveling westbound in the right lane when it struck the boy.



The ambulance immediately stopped and provided medical aid for the teen, who suffered multiple bruises and broken bones. He was taken to UTMB Hospital by ambulance.



Authorities say the teen's bicycle did not have any lights.



No charges have been filed.
