Man accused of sexual assault goes before judge
Warren Doyle is accused of sexually assaulting a special needs softball palyer

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man accused of sexually assaulting a child faced those charges in court Friday morning.

Prosecutors say 69-year-old Warren Doyle was helping with his grandchild's softball team earlier this month when he allegedly assaulted one of the other children. Doyle appeared in court so the judge could tell him not to have any contact with the 12-year-old girl he is accused of assaulting.

Doyle was in a wheelchair and appeared to be shaking slightly as he heard from the judge Friday morning. Not only was he told to not have contact with the girl, he was also told not to have anyone contact the girl on his behalf.

Doyle is accused of two counts of aggravated sexual assault. Police say he is the grandfather of a child on a special needs baseball team called Team Texas from Highlands.

The victim also plays on that team and officers say the assaults took place during a team tournament trip to north Texas and continued when they returned to Baytown.

The defense attorney in this case say he has just gotten this case, and he didn't have any comment.
