Armored car driver targeted in hold-up
Men with guns tried to take off with the vehicle on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are looking for two men who tried to rob a Loomis armored car earlier this morning.

That all happened at a Walgreens at the corner of Reed Road and Cullen on the south side of Houston. Shortly before 7am, police say the driver of the Loomis armored vehicle was jumped by two suspects as she left the store.

The men were allegedly armed. They tried to get the vehicle driver to hand over her gun. In the process of doing that, she was able to escape and run away. The suspect then tried to drive away with the armored vehicle. However the vehicle stalled because of a built-in security feature.

Police say at that point the two suspects jumped into a getaway vehicle and drove away. It's unclear right now if they got away with any cash. The armored vehicle driver was unhurt.
